Insightful Reporting for LDAP Directory Services.

Turning complex directory data into clear, actionable insights.

Engineered for depth, delivered with simplicity.

A powerful lens into LDAP data, without the noise.

Delivering precise directory intelligence through a user-friendly interface.

MyView is a lightweight yet powerful reporting layer designed specifically for environments leveraging LDAP directory services, including OpenText eDirectory and Microsoft Active Directory. Built to address the growing demand for visibility into directory-driven infrastructures, MyView extracts and organizes key identity and access metrics - group memberships, user attributes, account states, and organizational structures - into configurable dashboards and exportable reports. The application supports granular filtering and role-based views, enabling tailored access to data relevant to diverse stakeholders within an organization, from helpdesk teams to compliance officers.

Architecturally, MyView is decoupled from the core directory services via a secure middleware layer that performs schema-aware queries, caching, and transformation logic. This design abstracts the complexity of LDAP operations, allowing the user interface to remain clean and responsive without compromising on the depth of data being retrieved. Integration points include support for multiple directory trees, authentication via LDAP bind or SSO mechanisms, and deployment flexibility across on-premises or hybrid environments. MyView is optimized for scalability and security, making it a reliable tool for enterprises that require high-fidelity reporting.

With configurable views, role-based access, and exportable reports, MyView enables organizations to turn raw directory data into meaningful, actionable intelligence.

Existing solutions vis-à-vis MyView

Most directory reporting tools are overengineered, difficult to configure, and functionally bloated. MyView delivers just enough precision and control to keep reporting streamlined and purpose-driven.

Feature General LDAP Reporting Tools MyView Platform
Report Template Creation Code-based design requiring technical skills (e.g. XML, LDAP queries) Zero-code, GUI-based report creation (no scripting or config files needed)
Pre-Built Report Templates Limited built-in templates; customization still requires technical effort Over 200+ ready-to-use report templates, all customizable without writing any code
Permission & Access Control Minimal role-based permissions (if any); often single-admin only, lacking fine-grained control Granular permission management on all menus and actions (precise role-based control over who can view or execute each report or function)
Local & LDAP Authentication LDAP/AD authentication only (no support for local user accounts) Supports both LDAP directory logins and local user accounts for flexibility
Feature General LDAP Reporting Tools MyView Platform
Offline Reporting Capability No offline mode – requires live directory connectivity (reports unavailable during directory outages) Offline reporting enabled via cached directory data, ensuring access to reports even if the LDAP service is down
Search & Query Construction Basic search only; complex queries require manual LDAP filters (no visual query builder) Interactive visual query builder with advanced filtering (point-and-click construction of complex searches, no scripting needed)
Interface Customization Customization requires editing config files or external tools (unintuitive and time-consuming) Easy in-app UI customization for menus, reports, and attributes (fully GUI-driven; no coding or config file edits required)
Support & Training Limited support (often at extra cost); formal training usually not included or relies on self-help Dedicated support with onboarding and hands-on training included (expert assistance provided at no additional cost)

No Code Customization of MyView Front-end

MyView enables full front-end customization via its UI. Dashboards, filters, and views are easily tailored, to align with organizational reporting needs. In MyView, no-code truly means zero code.

Deployment Overview of MyView

MyView's API-driven architecture enables flexible deployment. The front end can reside in the DMZ, while APIs remain securely within the internal network, ensuring both accessibility and strict separation of concerns.

  • Core components (MyView LDAP Sync Service and its database) are deployed in a militarized secure zone (MZ) near directory servers to minimize exposure.
  • Front-end reporting portals (primary and secondary) reside in a DMZ for convenient user access while shielding internal systems from direct exposure.
  • All communication between the portals and core services uses RESTful APIs over SSL/TLS, ensuring end-to-end encryption of data in transit.
  • Directory queries to Active Directory or eDirectory are executed over LDAPS (LDAP over SSL) to safeguard credentials and identity data.
  • An API-driven architecture strictly isolates internal processes and facilitates seamless integration with external systems without compromising network security.
